Sono richieste le conoscenze derivanti dal corso intergrato di Fisiologia veterinaria e principi di etologia applicata in particole sulle seguenti tematiche:
Processi fisiologici che operano per il mantenimento dell’omeostasi: controllo nervoso ed ormonale
Metodi di osservazione, e di registrazione del comportamento animale; formulazione di un etogramma.
Stress: principali sistemi coinvolti nell’attivazione del meccanismo di stress.
Nozioni di anatomia e fisiologia del cane e del gatto

Gestione tecnica del canile e del gattile
Sono richieste conoscenze di base di allevamento e benessere animale.

Obiettivi formativi

L'insegnamento concorre alla realizzazione dell'OBIETTIVO FORMATIVO del corso di studi in PGAAS fornendo allo studente conoscenze sulla funzione dei principali comportamenti, sulle fasi di sviluppo comportamentale, sulle modalità di comunicazione, sui principali moduli comportamentali nel cane e nel gatto. Lo studente dovrà essere dotato della capacità critica necessaria ad applicare le conoscenze e competenze acquisite nell'ambito del comportamento animale finalizzato alla gestione dell'allevamento del cane e del gatto. Lo studente dovrà inoltre acquisire nozioni base:- sul comportamento riproduttivo e sulla gestione dell'allevamento canino e felino in soggetti sani; - sulla corretta valutazione delle condizioni di allevamento del cane, e delle caratteristiche strutturali ed organizzative che concorrono alla corretta gestione dell'allevamento, promuovendo il benessere degli animali in tutte le sue dimensioni, ed il rispetto per le disposizioni legislative in vigore;- sulla identificazione degli animali attraverso i sistemi elettronici previsti dalla legislazione in vigore;-sulla valutazione delle condizioni di salute, e di igiene, e cura degli animali; -sulla  valutazione della condizione corporea del cane e della qualità delle feci degli animali. I corsi di legislazione mangimistica e gestione dell'allevamento del cane e del gatto tenuti dalla Prof.ssa Meineri , da quest'anno, verteranno su un'unica linea didattica che comprende i seguenti argomenti: - gestione delle principali esigenze del gatto in allevamento; - conoscenza delle varie tipologie di mangimi commerciali e gli obiettivi aziendali di note industrie operanti nel settore del pet food (in questo contesto il modulo   si colloca come approfondimento pratico del corso base sulla alimentazione degli animali d'affezione del corso integrato allevamento e industria dei prodotti per animali da compagnia); - valutazione delle condizioni di salute, e di igiene, e cura degli animali e dei principali problemi sanitari riscontrabili negli allevamenti; - conoscenza delle principali attività cinofile.

The teaching contributes to the realization of the TRAINING OBJECTIVE of the course of study in PGAAS providing the student with knowledge on the function of the main behaviors, on the phases of behavioral development, on the modes of communication, on the main behavioral forms in the dog and cat. The student must be equipped with the critical skills necessary to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of animal behavior aimed at managing the breeding of dogs and cats. The student must also acquire basic notions: - on the reproductive behavior and on the management of the canine and feline breeding in healthy subjects; - on the correct evaluation of the breeding conditions of the dog, and the structural and organizational characteristics that contribute to the correct management of the breeding, promoting the welfare of the animals in all its dimensions, and the respect for the legislative provisions in force; animals through the electronic systems provided for by the legislation in force; - on the evaluation of health conditions, and hygiene, and animal care; - on the assessment of the body condition of the dog and the quality of the feces of the animals. The courses of animal feed legislation and management of dog and cat breeding held by Prof. Meineri, from this year, will focus on a single educational line that includes the following topics: - management of the main needs of the cat in the breeding; - knowledge of the various types of commercial feeds and the business objectives of well-known industries operating in the pet food sector (in this context the module is a practical in-depth analysis of the basic course on feeding of pets in the integrated breeding and product industry course for pets); - assessment of the health, hygiene and care conditions of the animals and of the main health problems encountered in breeding farms; - knowledge of the main dog activities.

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi

Oltre ad aver acquisito le conoscenze proprie dell'insegnamento, lo studente, dovrà essere in grado di VALUTARE, CONOSCERE E COMPRENDERE il comportamento e di garantire il benessere di cane e gatto in condizioni di allevamento e stabulati (pensione/rifugio/canile) alla luce delle nozioni di base acquisite riguardanti lo sviluppo comportamentale e le corrette manifestazioni comportamentali specie specifiche anche relative alla sfera riproduttiva.

 CAPACITÀ DI APPLICARE CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE

 Lo studente dovrà essere in grado di dimostrare di aver acquisito la conoscenza della terminologia scientifica corretta insieme alla capacità di effettuare una disamina logica e critica di un argomento a scelta inerente la tematica del Corso Integrato .

AUTONOMIA DI GIUDIZIO

Lo studente dovrà avere capacità di valutazione critica delle condizioni di allevamento di cani i gatti, adatte a garantire il benessere animale. Conoscenza della legislazione in vigore relativa alla detenzione di cani e gatti in contesto di allevamento e rifugio. Lo studente dovrà essere in grado di conoscere alcuni stati critici dell'animale da un punto di vista nutrizionale e alcune problematiche sanitarie che possono presentarsi negli allevamenti per sapersi adeguatamente interfacciare con la figura di riferimento del veterinario. Lo studente dovrà conoscere le varie tipologie di mangimi commerciali e integratori per cani e gatti. Conoscere le principali attività cinofile.

ABILITÀ COMUNICATIVE.

Lo studente dovrà apprendere abilità comunicative sugli argomenti affrontati nel  corso integrato.

CAPACITÀ DI APPRENDIMENTO

 Lo studente dovrà dimostrare la  capacità di operare una sintesi tra le conoscenze propedeutiche di alimentazione e fisiologia animale e quelle pratico applicative delle basi dell'allevamento e della gestione dell'allevamento del cane e del gatto. 

 

In addition to having acquired the knowledge of teaching, the student must be able to EVALUATE, KNOW AND UNDERSTAND the behavior and to ensure the welfare of dogs and cats in conditions of breeding and housing (retirement / shelter / kennel) in the light of the acquired basic notions concerning behavioral development and correct behavioral manifestations specific species also related to the reproductive sphere.

 
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

 
The student must be able to demonstrate that he / she has acquired the knowledge of the correct scientific terminology together with the ability to carry out a logical and critical analysis of a chosen topic concerning the topic of the Integrated Course.

JUDGMENT AUTONOMY

The student must have the ability to critically assess the conditions of breeding dogs and cats, suitable for ensuring animal welfare. Knowledge of current legislation concerning the keeping of dogs and cats in the context of breeding and shelter. The student must be able to know some critical states of the animal from a nutritional point of view and some health problems that may arise in the farms to know how to properly interface with the figure of reference of the veterinarian. The student will have to know the various types of commercial feeds and supplements for dogs and cats. Know the main dog activities.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS.

The student will have to learn communication skills on the topics covered in the integrated course.

LEARNING ABILITY

 
The student must demonstrate the ability to make a synthesis between the preparatory knowledge of animal nutrition and physiology and the practical application of the bases of breeding and management of the breeding of dogs and cats.

Il Corso Integrato si compone di 6 CFU per un totale di 72 h di cui 48 di lezione teorica e 24 di esercitazione, di cui:

4h visita a gruppi presso un Allevamento di Cani per osservazione delle principali tecniche di apprendimento utilizzate in allevamento: abituazione dei cuccioli ai rumori, condizionamento classico e operante nell'educazione di base (gruppi da 25 studenti)

4h visita a gruppi presso un Canile e gattile sanitario/Rifugio per osservazione repertorio comportamentale normale, valutazione del benessere animale (parametri diretti) in cani e gatti confinati (gruppi da 25 studenti)

4h visita a gruppi presso un Allevamento di Cani per l'osservazione della gestione pratica dei riproduttori (maschi e femmine) e delle cucciolate (dalla nascita allo svezzamento) in allevamento (gruppi da 25 studenti)

4h visita a gruppi presso un Allevamento di Cani per valutazione delle infrastrutture, alimentazione e attività di gestione degli animali (gruppi da 25 studenti)

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento

 

La verifica dell'apprendimento viene effettuata tramite presentazione di una RELAZIONE SCRITTA di contenuto tecnico-gestionale su un argomento scelto dallo studente, approfondito in modo da comprendere tematiche dei 4 MD che compongono il CI. Seguirà un colloquio orale, da sostenersi nello stesso appello, in cui la Commissione d'esame porrà al candidato domande relative alla relazione scritta. Il voto finale sarà costituito dalla media fra voto attribuito alla relazione scritta e voto attribuito al colloquio orale

 I CRITERI DI SVOLGIMENTO  E DI VALUTAZIONE DELLA PROVA SCRITTA.

  • Tempi di presentazione della relazione scritta:

La relazione scritta dovrà  essere fatta pervenire via e-mail entro il quindicesimo giorno prima della data di appello di esame ( è ammesso lo scarto di un giorno).

  • Modalità di invio della relazione scritta.

La relazione scritta dovrà essere fatta pervenire via e-mail ad ognuno dei docenti dei moduli didattici:

  • Indicazioni formali per la Relazione scritta:

la relazione scritta dovrà essere di 10-12 pagine, interlinea 1,5pt., times new roman 12 pt. riguardante un argomento scelto dallo studente inerente il Corso. Nell'approfondimento devono essere inserite informazioni riguardanti tutti e 3 i MD

  • Indicazioni sul contenuto della presentazione:

Le informazioni utilizzate per la presentazione dovranno rispecchiare gli argomenti esposti dai docenti del corso. Per le informazioni riportate nella presentazione ottenute dalla consultazione di testi, articoli scientifici e siti web sarà necessario che lo studente indichi  nel testo della presentazione la citazione abbreviata di autore e anno (es. Bianchi, 2011), Alla fine della presentazione dovrà essere riportata per esteso e per ogni pubblicazione citata:  titolo della pubblicazione, nome della rivista, volume, pagine (bibliografia). Le informazioni riportate ottenute dalla consultazione di testi, articoli scientifici non devono rappresentare più della metà della relazione, rispetto al materiale fornito dai docenti.

L'elaborato verrà valutato in base a:

  • Argomento scelto : Approfondimento nei diversi moduli, Correttezza dei contenuti Valore fino ad un massimo di 15 punti
  • Capacità dello studente di disamina critica rispetto l'argomento trattato Valore fino ad un massimo di 5 punti
  • Capacità di scrittura Valore fino ad un massimo di 5 punti
  • Uso ed inserimento materiale bibliografico Valore fino ad un massimo di 5 punti.

Nei 5 giorni precedenti l'appello i docenti si riuniranno e stabiliranno la votazione della relazione. I commenti alla relazione e l'esito saranno inviati via mail ai candidati. Se lo studente avrà bisogno di chiarimenti circa la votazione dovrà inviare una mail con richiesta di spiegazioni a ciascun docente del Corso integrato.

 

 

 E' previsto un ESONERO di fine corso sotto forma di presentazione orale a gruppi (max 2 studenti, su supporto PowerPoint), su un argomento scelto dagli studenti, approfondito in modo da comprendere tematiche dei 4 MD che compongono il CI.

Seguirà da parte dei docenti una domanda per ciascun MD.

Il superamento dell'esonero implicherà, ove la votazione venga accettata, il superamento dell'esame.

 

I CRITERI DI SVOLGIMENTO E DI VALUTAZIONE DELL' ESONERO

Lo studente dovrà esporre oralmente alla commissione una presentazione power point, pdf, prezi. La durata massima della presentazione è di 10 minuti e gli studenti potranno scegliere se effettuare la presentazione singolarmente o in coppia (sempre con un tempo massimo a disposizione di 10 minuti complessivi) .

Le informazioni utilizzate per la presentazione dovranno rispecchiare gli argomenti illustrati dai docenti del corso. Per le informazioni riportate nella presentazione ottenute dalla consultazione di testi, articoli scientifici e siti web sarà necessario che lo studente indichi  nel testo della presentazione la citazione abbreviata di autore e anno (es. Bianchi, 2011), Alla fine della presentazione una slide dovrà riportare per esteso e per ogni pubblicazione citata:  titolo della pubblicazione, nome della rivista, volume, pagine).

Al termine della presentazione ogni docente potrà rivolgere al candidato 1 domanda

Lo studente verrà valutato su:

1_presentazione:

grafica (capacità di sintesi, numero di slides adeguato…) fino ad un massimo di 3 punti;

tempo fino ad un massimo di 3 punti

esposizione (chiarezza e capacità di sintesi, capacità di rivolgersi alla platea…) fino ad un massimo di 4 punti;

2_argomento:

congruità della scelta con i temi del Corso fino ad un massimo di 3 punti;

completezza nell'affrontare tutti i moduli fino ad un massimo di 3 punti;

 uso di materiale bibliografico (articoli scientifici, testi…) fino ad un massimo di 4 punti.

3_capacità di risposta alle domande della commissione. Valore fino ad un massimo di 10 punti*

* Al termine della presentazione, ogni docente potrà rivolgere al candidato n. 1 omanda. Il docente potrà rinunciare a fare la domanda se la presentazione è stata esaustiva e i punti a disposizione saranno conteggiati in aggiunta ai punti 1 e 2 dei punteggi  di valutazione .

Al termine delle presentazioni la Commissione si riunirà per stabilire le votazioni degli studenti. Al termine della seduta della Commissione agli studenti verrà comunicato il voto finale inerente l'intero Corso e i docenti saranno a disposizione per chiarimenti e commenti.

Per la registrazione del voto gli studenti dovranno iscriversi agli appelli programmati presenti su Esse3 (iscrizione subordinata all'aver superato le propedeuticità) e dovranno presentarsi il giorno dell'appello per la registrazione presso lo studio della Prof.ssa Meineri (2 piano palazzina Blu).  

 

The assessment of learning is carried out through the presentation of a WRITTEN REPORT of technical-management content on a topic chosen by the student, in-depth in order to understand the topics of the 4 MDs that make up the CI. An oral interview will follow, to be sustained in the same appeal, in which the Examining Commission will ask the candidate questions related to the written report. The final mark will consist of the average between the grade attributed to the written report and the grade attributed to the oral exam

• Formal indications for the written report:
the written report should be 10-12 pages, interlinea 1,5pt., times new roman 12 pt. concerning a topic chosen by the student concerning the Course. In the deepening, information concerning all 3 MDs must be entered
• Information on the content of the presentation:
The information used for the presentation should reflect the topics presented by the course teachers. For the information given in the presentation obtained from the consultation of texts, scientific articles and websites, the student must indicate the abbreviated citation of author and year in the text of the presentation (eg Bianchi, 2011). extended and for each publication cited: title of publication, name of magazine, volume, pages (bibliography). The information obtained from the consultation of texts, scientific articles should not represent more than half of the report, compared to the material provided by the teachers.
The report will be evaluated based on:


• Selected topic: Deepening in the different modules, Correctness of the contents Value up to a maximum of 15 points


• The student's ability to examine critical issues with respect to the treated subject Value up to a maximum of 5 points


• Writing capacity Value up to a maximum of 5 points


• Use and insertion of bibliographic material Value up to a maximum of 5 points.
In the 5 days preceding the appeal the teachers will meet and decide to vote on the report. The comments to the report and the outcome will be sent by email to the candidates. If the student needs clarification about the vote, he / she must send an email requesting explanations to each teacher of the integrated course.

An ESONERO of the end of the course is foreseen in the form of an oral presentation to groups (max 2 students, on PowerPoint support), on a topic chosen by the students, in-depth to understand the topics of the 4 MDs that make up the CI.

A question will be asked by the teachers for each MD.

The overcoming of the exoneration will imply, if the vote is accepted, the passing of the exam

 

CRITERIA FOR THE EVOLUTION AND EVALUATION OF THE ESONERO

The student will have to present a power point presentation to the committee orally, pdf, valuable. The maximum duration of the presentation is 10 minutes and students can choose whether to present the presentation individually or in pairs (always with a maximum time available for a total of 10 minutes).

The information used for the presentation should reflect the topics illustrated by the course teachers. For the information given in the presentation obtained from the consultation of texts, scientific articles and websites, it will be necessary for the student to indicate in the presentation text the abbreviated citation of author and year (eg Bianchi, 2011), At the end of the presentation a slide must report in full and for each publication cited: title of publication, name of magazine, volume, pages).

At the end of the presentation each teacher can ask the candidate 1 question

The student will be evaluated on:

1_presentazione:

graphics (synthesis capacity, adequate number of slides ...) up to a maximum of 3 points;

time up to a maximum of 3 points

exposure (clarity and ability to synthesise, ability to address the audience ...) up to a maximum of 4 points;

2_argomento:

congruity of the choice with the themes of the Course up to a maximum of 3 points;

completeness in dealing with all the modules up to a maximum of 3 points;

 use of bibliographic material (scientific articles, texts ...) up to a maximum of 4 points.

3_capacity of answer to the questions of the commission. Value up to a maximum of 10 points *

* At the end of the presentation, each teacher can address to the candidate n. 1 question. The teacher may give up asking if the presentation has been exhaustive and the points available will be counted in addition to points 1 and 2 of the evaluation scores.

At the end of the presentations, the Commission will meet to establish student grades. At the end of the session of the Commission to the students will be announced the final vote concerning the entire course and the teachers will be available for clarification and comments.

For the registration of the vote, students must register for the scheduled appointments on Esse3 (registration subject to having passed the prerequisites) and must present the day of the registration for the registration of Prof. Meineri (2 floor blue building) .

Comportamento animale: processi fondamentali. Istinto e apprendimento: rinforzo e punizione, condizionamento classico e operante. Etogramma del cane e del gatto. Fasi di sviluppo (periodo critico). Comunicazione animale. Benessere animale: definizione e valutazione. Indicatori diretti (fisiologici, comportamentali e produttivi) ed indiretti (gestione e arricchimento ambientale) di benessere. Comportamenti maladattativi e loro valutazione Attività educative e terapie assistite con gli animali. Comportamento riproduttivo della femmina e del maschio (cane e gatto).

Caratteristiche gestionali fisiologiche dell'accoppiamento, gravidanza e parto.

Gestione del neonato sano.

Infrastrutture e attrezzature in allevamento di cani e gatti, gestione delle attività in allevamento, legislazione in materia di tutela degli animali da affezione, legislazione in materia di identificazione elettronica degli animali da affezione. Condizioni in allevamento adatte a garantire la salute ed il benessere animale, cura del cane e del gatto, il body condition score ed il fecal score.

A partire da quest'anno accademico i corsi di Gestione dell'allevamento del cane e del gatto e di Legislazione mangimistica tenuti  dalla Prof.ssa Meineri verteranno su un'unica linea didattica che comprende i seguenti argomenti:- gestione delle principali esigenze del gatto in allevamento;- conoscenza delle varie tipologie di mangimi commerciali e gli obiettivi aziendali di note industrie operanti nel settore del pet food; -codice etico dell'allevatore, prerequisiti scientifici , formazione ed informazione; -aspetti sanitari di base negli allevamenti edi primo soccorso: cosa fare e non fare in attesa del veterinario;- cessione del cucciolo: adempimenti obbligatori, aspetti legali, rapporto con il veterinario ; -attività di cinofilia, gare, mostre.

Animal behavior: fundamental processes. Instinct and learning: reinforcement and punishment, classic and active conditioning. Cat and dog's ethogram. Stages of development (critical period). Animal communication. Animal welfare: definition and evaluation. Direct indicators (physiological, behavioral and productive) and indirect (environmental management and enrichment) of well-being. Maladaptive behaviors and their assessment Educational activities and therapies assisted with animals. Reproductive behavior of the female and the male (dog and cat).

Physiological management characteristics of mating, pregnancy and childbirth.

Management of healthy newborn.

Infrastructures and equipment in breeding of dogs and cats, management of breeding activities, legislation on the protection of pets, legislation on the electronic identification of pets. Breeding conditions suitable for animal health and welfare, dog and cat care, body condition score and fecal score.

Starting from this academic year the courses of Management of the breeding of the dog and the cat and of the Animal Feed Laws held by Prof. Meineri will focus on a single didactic line that includes the following topics: - management of the main needs of the cat in breeding - knowledge of the various types of commercial feed and the business objectives of known industries operating in the pet food sector; - breeder's ethical code, scientific prerequisites, training and information; - basic health aspects in farms and first aid: what to do and not do while waiting for the vet; - transfer of the puppy: mandatory duties, legal aspects, relationship with the veterinarian; - activity of cynophilia, contests, exhibitions.
